Do you choose bonded bricks or traditional masonry?

Why choose bonded bricks? 

1. Faster installation: glued bricks are installed faster than traditional masonry. This reduces construction time.
2. Maintenance-friendly: a facade with bonded bricks generally requires less maintenance than masonry with traditional joints. After all, there are no joints that can get dirty, wear out or be damaged.
3. Durability and sturdiness: a bonded facade is up to three times stronger than a traditionally masonry facade. The sturdy facade construction can withstand various weather conditions and has a long lifespan. 
4. Fewer moisture problems: bonded bricks reduce the risk of moisture penetration because there are no open joints where water can penetrate. This keeps the facade drier and reduces the risk of moisture problems such as mold and structural damage.
5. Improved insulation: because there are no joints between the bricks, less heat can escape. A better insulation value of the facade promotes the energy efficiency of the building.

They are increasingly appearing on the streets: even-looking facades with no visible joints. This pure brick effect is achieved by gluing the bricks together. Weber or Seifert adhesive mortar can be used for this purpose.

When bonding facing bricks, the joint can be narrowed to about 4 mm, whereas it is normally about 10 to 12 mm wide. Such a narrow joint has the advantage that the chosen brick gets all the attention!
