An essential aspect of tile coverings is the sealing layer. This layer forms a crucial barrier against moisture and vapor pressure from the substrate. This keeps the tile cladding intact and prevents damage. In addition, the sealing layer acts as a vapor pressure equalization layer.

Schlüter®-DITRA-DRAIN 8 consists of a dimensionally stable polyethylene film with studs in the form of cone stubs on one side and a bonded filter fleece in polypropylene on both sides.

Schlüter-DITRA serves in combination with tile coverings as a sealing layer, as a vapor pressure equalization layer in case of moisture from the substrate and as a decoupling layer in case of problem substrates. The Schlüter-DITRA decoupling mat can be used both on the floor and against the wall.
